I Scream for Ice Cream

Wildfox soft serve pullover | Paper Heart floral skort (similar here, here, and here) | Zara wedge sandals (similar here and here) | BP aviator sunglasses | Pura Vida bracelets | Photos by: Tina Clara

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.

Summer is here. So I decided to wear what I like to eat during summer (which is pretty much everything) But for the sake of this particular post....let it be a soft serve. This Wildfox pullover is the perfect piece to wear over little tank tops (or worn alone) for summer. It’s lightweight, soft cotton and has the irresistibly cute little soft serve print.

I love eating soft serves, but it melts too fast! I’m always in a hurry to get to the bottom of the cone so it won’t drip through. Besides the soft serves, I scream for anything cold & yummy these days, including ice cream, frozen yogurt, Taiwanese shaved ice, jujuba (korean popsicles), fruits and ofcourse, the most important thirst quencher of all time...watermelon! I can live on that forever. I need to start wearing a watermelon.

What are some of your favorite summer treats? Happy Summer! xx

Moss and MOCA

Better late than never (as the saying goes)...

I had the opportunity to preview the Kate Moss x Topshop collection a few months back in April (ahhh!!) and even purchased some pieces before it was open to the public. I just never got around wearing them, so I wasn’t able to post on the blog. My friend (you know who you are) says by the time you post this, the item will no longer be available. Story of my life. Like I said, better late than never! :)

So here it is...my favorite dress from the Kate Moss x Topshop collection! This embroidered smock dress is simply stunning. I love the intricate embroidered detail on the front, the colors are so pretty. And come on.... what a stunning dress to go with the amazing Jacob Hashimoto’s Gas Giant exhibit at MOCA. I match the backdrop!! I know, I know...isn’t this supposed to be a blog about fashion? Yes it is but it is so much more! I find it more aesthetically pleasing when it’s mixed with art...or just something cool. If you made it all the way to this page, I want to make it worth your while. Get some fashion inspiration and a little peep in what this city has to offer. Enjoy! xx

Flower Fields

Nothing beats the simplicity in what nature has to offer. The earth laughs in flowers!

Have you ever had the fantasy of running through a flower field in a pretty dress? I think most girls at some point in their lives do. It’s the age of innocence. Girls adorned with little flowers in their long hair, long flowy dresses and aimlessly wandering about in a field of flowers. I find it magical, ethereal, and almost haunting. I’ve always wanted to be that. Well I did just that. Albeit everything shortened LOL. My hair is short, dress is short, and certainly no flowers in my hair, but it didn’t matter because you can’t help but feel wild and carefree when you’re surrounded by this endless sea of vibrant colors. It truly is magical! I’m fortunate enough to make it in on the last day of the flower viewing before it’s closed for the season. If you’ve never been to The Flower Fields in Carlsbad, you should go. Next season that is. But in the meantime take a little time to see what’s already around you because natural beauty is everywhere.

May flowers bloom in all corners of your world. xx

For the Love of Audrey

“I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls."

Today would have been Audrey Hepburn’s 85th birthday. In honor of this well-loved and adored fashion style icon, I pay a little homage by channeling her classic and timeless style. In this case....a hair bun, clean lines, red lips, and a girly skirt.

I absolutely adore this skirt by Topshop. I love how it poofs out and when worn, it sure makes one feel like a princess! Not to say the least, it’s white. Not something I would wear on the norm. Yeah, go ahead and try keeping this clean. Well, one can’t live forever under a rock, worrying about getting something dirty. Get over it. Take a risk! The black and white crop top (croptop??? suck that gut in lol!) has a lovely flower lace detail in the back. It’s delicate, cute and oh, soooo on sale! The bold stripes are not too thin nor too thick, and contrasts nicely with the white skirt. I kept everything black and white, except for the red lips and the pop of the yellow bag to give the look a little more life. I certainly had a little too much fun getting dressed for this day..because after all, as Audrey's saying goes...happy girls are the prettiest girls. And this makes me happy! :) xx
